Dr Andrew Burnett
MB ChB (Dund) 1981 MRCGP DRCOG The senior partner. In addition to his four and a half days in the practice, he works one half day in the allergy clinic at Amersham Hospital. He is the chairman of the SE Oxfordshire Practice-Based Commissioning Group. His particular interests are in allergy, dermatology and cycling. He is married with three children. |  |

Dr Ralph Drury
MB BS(Lond) 1992 MRCGP DFFP Dr Drury joined us in 1999. He is a full-time partner and has a keen interest in weight loss management and diabetes. Dr Drury is married and has two children. |  |

Dr Kim Emerson
MB ChB (Sheff) 1991 DCH DFFP MRCGP Dr Emerson joined the practice in 1995 after her year here as registrar. She now works at the Health Centre on three days a week. She has a special interest in paediatrics, obstetrics, well woman issues and family planning. She also oversees the practice staff and finances, and is an experienced GP trainer. She is married with three children. |  |

Dr Sue Ronay
MB ChB (Man) 1985 DCH DRCOG FRCGP Dr Ronay has been with the practice since 1997, having trained here in the 80s. She consults in the practice two and a half days per week. She is an experienced GP trainer, practice lead on mental health and looks after the local nursing home. She considers herself a true 'generalist' in that she is interested in all aspects of general practice. Dr Ronay is married with two children and a very boisterous dog. |  |

Dr Tess Harris
MB BS(Lond) MRCGP DRCOG DCH DGM MSc MD, who qualified in 1988, Dr Harris joined the practice in June 2001 as a part time GP. Dr Harris also works part time at St George's University of London doing research and teaching medical students. She is married with two children and lives in Reading. |  |

Dr Ellen Kruidenier
MRCGP DRCOG Dr Ellen Kruidenier ('call me Dr Ellen - it's easier') was our registrar in 2003/04. Born in the Netherlands in 1967 she graduated from Medical School in Groningen in 1992. After house jobs and research, she came to London in 1995 and for some 5 years worked in paediatrics at Kings College Hospital. Dr Ellen has special interests in child and teenage health, family planning and womens health and teaching medical students from Oxford. Dr Ellen joined the Health centre as a salaried GP in 2005 and works three days per week. She lives in Reading and is married with two children. |  |

Dr Charlotte Treacy
MBBSMA(Cantab) MRCP DFRSH DRCOG MRCGP Dr Charlotte Treacy joined the practice in May 2010. Born in Belgium to British and Belgian parents, she moved to the UK in 1986 and speaks fluent French. Dr Treacy studied at Cambridge University and in her third year she decided to branch out and study Social and Political Sciences. She completed her clinical studies at Imperial College in London. Prior to General Practice, she trained in General Medicine at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. She completed her GP training in Chesham.
She is interested in all aspects of medicine, in particular contraception and sexual health. She is married to a GP and has one son. Outside of medicine, her many interests include sport and walking in the Oxfordshire countryside. |  |

Dr Shamila Wanninayake
Dr Shamila is currently away from the surgery on Maternity leave until May 2011.

Dr Shamila (Wanninayake) obtained her MBBSin 2003 from University College London. After graduating she undertook a 2 year medical rotation in Cambridge. After this she moved to Western Australia and worked in Emergency Medicine. She then travelled round the world and returned to complete her hospital training at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in 2007.
She also has a degree in Psychology from the University of Leeds and worked for 2 years both in research and clinical Psychology at St James’s University Hospital, Leeds and Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
She is married with a daughter and loves the Great Outdoors, particularly any dangerous activities such as horse riding and climbing. |  |

Dr Andrea Whitehead
Dr Whitehead joined us in February 2010 and will be supervised by Dr Ronay and Dr Emerson during her 18 months at the practice.
She studied medicine at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. She graduated with MBBSin 2006 after also graduating with her BMedSci degree researching embryonic stem cells. She completed her foundation programme at the Freeman Hospital, General Hospital and Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle upon Tyne and especially enjoyed intensive care and acute medicine.
Dr Whitehead moved to Oxfordshire to live with her husband, and to commence her GP training at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in August 2008. She completed 6 month rotations in general medicine with oncology, ophthalmology, and obstetrics and gynaecology and gained her DRCOG in October. She is currently studying for her first of two GP exams in April.
Andrea lives at RAF Benson with her husband, who flies Puma helicopters, and their adorable twin bunnies who are the loves of their lives! She also enjoys many sports such as flying power kites, swimming, skiing and scuba diving. She is an avid musician and still tries to find time for singing and writing music. |  |

Dr Anna Crane (f)
Dr Anna Crane qualified in 2007 from Guy's, King's and St Thomas' Hospitals in London. She spent her first few years as a junior doctor working in Eastbourne and then Surrey. Incidentally, she worked at Sonning Common for a short while as a medical student, and is delighted to return.
Originally from Henley, Anna decided to undertake her GP training based in Reading and will be with us until February 2011.
In her spare time Anna can be found out on the roads, riding her precious and much loved road bike. |

Dr Sophie North (f)
Dr Sophie North started a four-month placement as a registrar at Sonning Common Health Centre in August. She qualified as a doctor from Leeds Medical School in June 2009 and has spent the past year working at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and the Horton hospital in Banbury in general medicine, surgery and paediatrics.
Sophie is particularly interested in children’s health, mental health and the social factors which affect our wellbeing. She is very excited about spending time at the practice and has already been inspired by the friendly nature of the surgery.
Outside of medicine, Sophie enjoys working on her allotment, cycling and travelling. |
